V Family - Wide Open Spaces

This little girl stole my heart. She was equally rambunctious and sweet and her doting parents were so cute with her. What a perfect time to capture this family as they prepare to welcome baby number two. I love that they trusted my taste in location and were willing to try anything during the session. It was a lot of fun getting to know them.  Thank you V family!

The clouds parted and the rain stopped for a moment so we could have our photo session. Very fun family. I think the pictures show how much love they have for each other. Makes my job pretty easy.  Thanks O Family!

the magic hour

Just before sunset is my favorite time to take photos...I call it, "the magic hour".  I took pictures of one of my favorite families yesterday. Just mom playing with her kids. You might recognize these cute faces...I get to photograph them a lot, which I love!

Shoulders back, chin down

Took some pictures for the ole' "about me" page.  You can see which one I picked over here. I didn't really get all dolled up because I wanted to look like me... Just me and my rain boots and my usual v-neck / casual ensemble. haha. I am not one of those girls that wears dresses to the grocery store. Some-days I wish I was because it looks really glamorous.

I think it is important for photographers to have their picture taken from time to time. It helps them remember what it is like to be the subject. I, for one, am a little uncomfortable when it's my turn in front of the camera. I all of the sudden forget how to smile and my body language becomes awkward...where do I put my hands?! how is my hair?  It is a nice reminder that my job is to help my clients relax and reassure them that we will work as a team to create beautiful images.
